Hong Kong’s 10 most-active architecture firms were presented on 22 May 2009 by BCI Asia, the region’s construction information provider. The portfolios of these elite architecture firms contain USD 6.2 billion worth of properties scheduled to start construction in Hong Kong this year.
The BCI Asia Top 10 Awards for 2009 were presented to AD+RG Architecture Design and Research Group, Aedas Ltd, Andres Lee King Fun & Associates Architects Limited, CYS Associates (HK) Ltd, Dennis Lau & Ng Chun Man Architects & Engineers (HK) Ltd,Hsin Yieh Architects & Engineers Limited , P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd , Ronald Lu & Partners (HK) Ltd , WCWP International Ltd , Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd. The awards were sponsored by Assa AbloyLtd, Autodesk Ltd, Bostik Holding Hong Kong Limited, TAK Products & Services Pte Ltd and Philips Lighting (HK) Ltd, supported by Business Environment Council, The HarbourView Place, The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, Signature Homes and Sun Hung Kai Properties.
BCI Asia Managing Director, Thor Kerr, said: “The top 10 architecture firms turn the corporate objectives of clients into buildings that work for today’s environment. These firms deliver projects efficiently while accounting for rapidly changing economic circumstances and consumer preferences. In this year’s portfolios, we see a shift towards green building design.”
The BCI Asia Top 10 Green Design Award 2009 was awarded to Aedas Ltd for the design of Eco Park Administration Building (shown left). The award, sponsored by Tandus Asia Pte Ltd was judged by an international jury of green building experts.
The exclusive awards ceremony, held at the W Hotel, was attended by 200 senior representatives of the building and property development industries. This is the fifth annual BCI Asia Top 10 Awards to celebrate the achievements of architecture firms in Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
