East Indonesia’s Manufacturing sector is booming
| Abstract: Manufacturing Surabaya will return 8-11 June 2011 following the closure of this year’s event which attracted 6512 trade visitors from throughout East Indonesia.

In addition to the manufacturing sector, this years show was expanded to include two other key sectors of East Indonesia’s development plan, Marine & Shipbuilding Surabaya and Electric, Power, Oil & Gas Surabaya.
Held for the second time at the new purpose built exhibition venue, Grand City Convention and Exhibition Centre, the exhibition proved a huge success in meeting the demand from the regions industry professionals to upgrade their equipment and technology. A total of 172 companies from 23 countries participated in the exhibition an 80% increase over the previous event.
Exhibitors were delighted with their participation with many exhibitors booking stands for June 2011when this event is held next. “The manufacturing exhibition in Surabaya is one of our major annual events to reach our potential customer base in the East Java market. We had a very good show this year and will definitely be part of it for years to come,” Mr Sebastiaan Sauren, Chief Operating Officer of NAVIGAT Energy (authorized distributor for GE Jenbacher) said.
Mr. Erry Hendarto from PT RAJATEC NUSANTARA said, “Our participation this year has been very successful and the sales prospects that we have received at this exhibition have by far exceeded our expectations".
Mr. Motohito Yoshikawa, Regional Manager, PT. DMG MORISEIKI INDONESIA said “the quality of visitors has exceeded our expectation and we will definitely be participating again in 2011.”

For the first time a one day seminar under the theme “Evaluation and Review of Industry Readiness in the Development of Electrical Power Infrastructure” was organised by the Indonesian Electrical Power Society, MKI and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia. This conference attracted over 150 delegates who listened to key note addresses from experts in the industry including Ir Fahmi Mochtar, Chairman of MKI.
